Schedule for Flute Harvest

Vibrato Exercise

Flute Harvest is a week packed with music making.

We have a mix of topics, skills, and specific presentations through the week, combined with Individual Playing Exercises (IPEx) offered to participants, along with special evening events (see the Program page). The general sessions are designed to enrich participants at all levels of playing experience, while IPEx elements are specifically tailored to the individual needs and levels of participants.

This page has a general outline of how the days of Flute Harvest will flow.

General Schedule

Here is a general schedule for the week. After the morning meal, we begin each day as a group, starting with a music warm-up and then progressing to specific music techniques as a whole group.

The afternoon sessions move the focus to individual techniques designed to develop specific skills, using IPEx (“Individual Playing Exercises”). Participants spend time “woodshedding” (practicing) their assigned exercise, then we come together to share the musical results.

The evening activities span a wide range of experiences, from the group rhythmic resonance of community drumming to a live broadcast concert on the final evening.
