Flute Harvest is a week packed with music making.

We have a mix of topics, skills, and specific presentations through the week, combined with Individual lessons offered to participants, along with special evening events (see the Program page). The general sessions are designed to enrich participants at all levels of playing experience, while individual lessons are specifically tailored to the individual needs and levels of participants.

Key Schedule Information

Flute Harvest

Arrival: Sunday, October 15, 2023, any time after 2:00 PM. Welcome and registration is open at 3PM, dinner will be served at 5:30 PM, and our opening session (the “downbeat”) is at 7:00 PM.

Monday through Thursday: See the general schedule below

Closing: Friday, October 20 — we hold sessions (including graduation) in the morning till about Noon.

General Schedule

Here is a general schedule for the week. After the morning meal, we begin each day as a group, starting with a music warm-up and then progressing to specific music techniques as a whole group.

The afternoon sessions move the focus to facilitated playing sessions where participants get to “woodshed” (practice) individual techniques designed to develop specific skills.

The evening activities span a wide range of experiences, from the group rhythmic resonance of community drumming to a live concert on the final evening.
